More the religions and sects in the country, more the festivals :)

Basically in one year, Hindus will have one new year, muslims another, and the Gregorian new year as everyone knows. Alongside that, there's a harvest new year in select regions in the northern states, and same in the southern states.

Yeah its like we have Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Kerala New Years even in the south...
We get festive seasons atleast 2 or 3 times a month, some even go upto a week's time.. We got tons of Holidays compared to most others lol

Happy Pongal

So if you really want to know my thinking about Happy Pongal, then i will tell you that Thai Pongal is a Tamil Harvest Festival. Thai Pongal is Celebrated over Four Days, usully Spanning January 13 to 16 in the Gregorian Calender. This Corresponds to the Last Day of the Tamil Month Maargazhi to the Third Day of the Tamil Month Thai.
