Copycat ...
(Well, I guess in order to make this post appear to be not just as a mere poke back, I better add something related to the topic. So, here goes: )
Being the dilligent person that I am, *cough*anal*cough*, I always use the bank's
Demolecularizer/Quantum Assembler 2-in-1 Synthesizer 3000™ (or, in short, "The Replicator" for you Trekkies), in order to keep picked produce from getting too ripe, various fishes from looking they've-been-out-for-sale-for-a-while-in-a-humid, non-refrigerated, tropical-market's-counter-without-any-buyer, and my bag of eyeballs just as fresh as when they're scooped out of their socket (Kanki FTW! I doubt anyone here will get the reference, but it's goddamn Kanki yo!), to cheat the expiration date of stackable, transferable items. (Don't get me started on the illogically rapid decay rate of rocks/minerals in Faeo. Seriously, don't.)
So, thus far, I've gotten but one of such email notification, for my biglotron's Rusty Tool. As a fair warning: I only got ONE NOTIFICATION for it, a full
three days prior to expiration. There were no "48 hrs left" warning, no "24 hrs to go", no "1 hr ZOMG-R-U-Listening!!!1111" notice, no snooze button option either (Not that I'm complaining. I hate spam). So, procrastinate at your own risk, should you choose to take no immediate action.
Going off on a tangent, other than using the bank box, other methods of slapping a new expiration date sticker on top of the old one is via equip-unequip from stack to belt and back, or stick 'em in your estate's freezer slash vacuum chamber, or through the magic of elt cube (limited items), or buy/trade similar item to add to the stack. You can also just sell/trade it away and let other people deal with the expiration date headache

, or you can just use the item!
(Damn!

So much of keeping it short and being unpredictable.)
