Drop Rate of Queen Zik

Im curious as to how you are suppose to get this queen zik firefly. I tried for 3 hours yesterday and another hour today on the bridge in the Barrow of Death and it wont drop. I dont get it...

empirically it has been speculated that the odds of getting a queen is ~1:300. without knowing the code behind the scenes it is hard to know for sure.
