Arrows of Kaza: Mentors Edition
I kind of had enough at this point. It's been 2 years since the Mentor's team started to degenerate into something like "I'm not going to be online whole day to help players because minimum wage means minimum effort hunney" and let me tell you why that's true.
Please note: Not everyone has to take it on themselves and be offended by it, this is how i see things are going in general.
This'll be a ranting thread rather than a family-friendly-constructive-criticism-filled-complaint one, that's why it's in city pub, not in complaints about magmar mentors section. It's also about the structure, not individual mentors.
So, where do we start? Mentors not helping like they used to 3 or 4 years ago (I kind of like that, as much as it pisses me off to go look for stuff myself, it helps me with searching stuff and learning more, so i'll give you a pass from that), mentors not being online enough or not being on at all, mentors not starting a campaign to solve this by hiring new people or encouraging their already existing members to be online during busy hours... There are a couple of problems here.
First off; why on earth do mentors not help like they used to? Ok it's great with links and all, I stated it before, I'm not going to repeat it. I know I'm going to get "But Huken tehts tu enkuraej peepool to search" yeah i don't care actually. You're getting paid to answer questions, not give hints. Nobody forced you to become a mentor, nobody's forcing you to stay there (if Lisad has a gun pointed at you and is forcing you to stay one, you can always contact me I'll call the police, just type: "H-elp i'm kidnapp-E-d by L-isad P-lease help me!" and I'll read between the lines, because the letters written in capitals actually read "HELP" so that's how I'll understand, I got you fam, as an ex-mentor it's my duty to protect you). Please for the love of Sheara give exact and proper answers.
Second: Why are there no mentors online most of the time? When they are online, why are they afk? Here, riddle me this: 15:23 Your complaint has been submitted.
As you can see, nobody saw that, because, well, nobody from the mentors were online. That's not once, not twice, not thrice... I'm starting to see a pattern here, you know. Previous times I asked the guards to handle that and they told me they couldn't because they don't see it and ok, I get it, alright, fair enough. But why are there no mentors online to take care of this? Or take care of anything at all? Not everyone can be online during the day time? Cool. Hire new mentors, train them and let them work. They don't want to? Then how about a pay rise? It could motivate people to apply to become mentors and stay online during the day. No? Suit yourself.
The current "join mentors we want ye" flood is apparently not enough, mentors need new blood but that idea is already way deep under the carpet, actually it's not even the carpet, it's under the whole building. It's starting to get annoying to not even be able to get answers to your simple questions or seing people speak whatever they want whenever they want in whatever chat they want because of lack of active mentors.
Last but not least, a fresh maymay: <img src="http://i65.tinypic.com/9jha43.jpg" alt="9jha43.jpg" title="9jha43.jpg" style="font-size: 0.8em;" />
Peace.

It's better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. What's even better is to weaponize your words to destroy anyone who dares challenge you.
I agree in some parts. Clearly the team needs more members, but the ones that are there... well, being fair I always got an answer from them. There is just one always AFK that never answers, but the rest I think are all ok.
The thing that I never understood was to change duty location. I was a long-time mentor at spanish server, and we used to do our duty in chernag just for one reason, news players are the ones that need your help and most of the time as they don't know how game works, they ask for help in general chat or just write whatever in location to see if anybody answers. The fact that there was a mentor always there was really useful to make sure that new players could remain playing and not leave game just at the start at first quests... For our admin was the "most important thing" of our role as mentors, help newies to make sure they didn't leave game and remain.
I see the fact that they can do their duty everywhere now as a great opportunity for them as players, but I don't think is useful at all. I have seen many lvl 2 new players asking things like crazy in chat and nobody there to answer. And that, for a game where people is leaving everyday... I think it's a big mistake.
Just my 2 cents.
