So

First how to obtain them well there are many ways to do it i will list all i know so first for sure is efril replicator,gnome runes, lucky glow,magic wand,secret staches like plateaue,instances,quests,events, and many other random places

for use of faulty efrils there are not too much you can do with em
first that comes in mind is that you can use elt cube to make them in regular efrils

then there are summons which fragments you can get from gnomes runes or just buy at auction
for that you need faulty efrils as well

and then comes the second part with 500 relict seeker rep you can buy Mica Mallet which can break them in parts which can be used as well
so with those parts you can make those summons each summon level need different amount even same level has like 4 different
amounts of those fragments

And then comes proably the most obvious its the quest for Gorbakh's Mace where you have to make a gift so you need faulty efrils,then you break them in pieces and you can make one of 3 gifts you need for the mace which is very nice to have

The Faulty Efrils could be obtained from:
-Magic Wand
-Efril Replicator
-Clan Greenhouse (by turning Efrils into Faulty Efrils)
-Special Offer in Premium Shop


There are 2 main uses for the Faulty Efrils.
First one: Turning them into Efrils in Elt Cube. This way, players can receive efrils and hand them into the city elder to receive city reputation of their race (Dartrong/O'Delvays).
Second one: Destroying them and receiving efril parts (efril core, efril rod, efril spiral etc.)
2.a. With those efril parts, players can make minotaur amulets to assist them in fights.
2.b. Players can use the efril parts to create Lunar, Star or Mirrow Gifts.
2.c. Players of Level 16 and up can use the required efril parts and other resources such as Destruction Fluid, Live Spark or Ancient Power Particle to receive tablets from Ulvarno to bless themselves, use negative effect on others or remove effect or negative effect from themselves or others.

Faulty Efrils seems useless in the beginning but yes:
they are important for some reason later in game...

How they can be optained:

-Magic Wand

-some NPC Quests as Reward
-Luck Glow
-Premium Shop

Main use of faulty Efrils:

1) Use in Elt Cube to create "normal" Efril from it
(>> Hand in at Elder for City reputation... >> Hand in to Urchi for Daily Urchi Quest...)

Main uses of faulty efrils?
-DESTROY with Mica Mallet, then use for mirrow souvenirs and minotaur battle amulets (summons)
-Transform, with the Elt Cube intro real efrils.
-I've heard they are used for mage level quests aswell
