By fighting the inhabitants of the Forbidden City, you can obtain Zarlog Scales. The value of the trophies depend on the power of the monsters: the stronger the Zarlog the better the trophy. You can use Zarlog Scales to increase your Tomb Raider reputation or to obtain unique equipment.
To increase Tomb Raider reputation you should hand the Zarlog Scales in to the pathfinders  Fergus in Basmont and  Ortego in Narroford.
To obtain the unique equipment you need to collect a number of Zarlog Scales of a certain type and acquire armour frame from Bratwell the Brave or Erding the Undaunted at Waltreia and Rumengild and exchange them for the desired equipment.
