Gnome coins are used to purchase special items that are only available from the Gnome Spirit
The coins were a means of payment among the Gnomes. To this day you can find these coins in Gnome Caskets. The Spirit of the Gnome Merchant who appears at 
Place of Sorrow and 
Graves of the Poor is interested in those coins. Usually the Spirit appears for a few hours at 20:00 game time, but after completing the quest "Gnome Spirit Summoning Bowl" he will always be there.
Coin exchange
You can exchange 1 pcs Valuable Gnome Coin for 10 pcs Gnome Coin. You cannot trade Gnome Coin for Valuable Gnome Coin besides once after completing a quest. You can also obtain 30 pcs Gnome Coin if you give the Gnome Spirit fragments of Golem Medallion obtained from the Gnomes instance.
